La lengua d\u2019\u00f2c o occitano pertenece al grupo de lenguas rom\u00e1nicas o neolatinas y est\u00e1 constituido por seis grupos dialectales: vivaro-aupin, proven\u00e7au, lemosin, auvernhat, lengadocian y gascon. Er aran\u00e9s es una variante del dialecto gascon.
